IS TO CREATE A PLACE TO COME TOGETHER, MAKING CONNECTIONS AND LIFE LONG MEMORIES THAT ADD VALUE TO THE LEGACY YOU LEAVE BEHIND. BE AFRAID NOT TO LIVE ON PURPOSE.
BY THE END OF THE LIVE ON PURPOSE RETREAT, YOU WILL RECOGNIZE THE TRANSFORMATION WITHIN YOURSELF AND ENTHUSIASTICALLY EMBRACE YOUR VALUE, ALLOWING YOU TO BREATHE AND INTENTIALLY LIVE YOUR LIFE ON PURPOSE.
We are a family devoted to encouraging you to slow down, visit your friends a little longer, listen to the stories, take time to watch the sun come up, find a good swimming hole and jump off the cliffs no matter how scared you are. Share your love, laughter and smile.
Allow me to use this moment to introduce you to ‘Jesus Barn Ministries.’
You do not notice how familiar life is until the moment your soul accepts that all things as you knew it, WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN. Memories are a lifetime of adventures collected through experiences and time well spent. As you age, the stories that run through your mind and fill your heart are more valuable than gold and become legendary when handed down from one generation to the next.
Of all the encounters that I have shared about Jesus, the most recent one has significantly influenced who I am and desire to become. There is something about the journey of life and death. Not a single one of us will escape it, yet for some reason we live like it will never happen to us. We fail to slow down long enough take inventory of the daily blessings; The sun rising and setting, birds singing, a star filled sky with moon beams shinning across the horse pasture, lightening, the details of a snowflake, the sound the leaves make in the breeze, and the ocean waves chasing the sand. We put living our dreams and best life off for one more day.
It is true that the accounts of Jesus Barn have formed a foundation in our family that even the strongest of storms cannot shake. Sometimes Jesus walks the hardest mile of life with us, while at that exact moment he is the escort of peace.
“Can you see what I see?” Mom had taken her fingers and gently closed her eye lids nice and tight. “I don’t know Mom, what do you see?” In the most matter of fact voice I had ever heard her speak in she replied, “It’s Jesus’ Barn. It would be a shame if you couldn’t see it.” Mom slowly tilted her head back as if she was looking up as high as she could. “Step back so you can see all of it. Look at all those compressed bales of straw He has stacked up. He squeezed all the water out by His own hands”. Pausing for a moment and slowly shaking her head she began again, “He has worked so hard. I bet He is tired.” ~ Sandra Sue Sprouse 8/12/59 - 8/23/22. DON'T MISS IT.
As mom was leaving the hospital, as upbeat as ever she said, “No Ticks on the Clock.” I have said a million times, that God’s timing is not measured in minutes, that is why there are “no ticks on the clock”….. but as I type this out 5/6/24, almost two years later, I realize…..she knew. She knew her time was coming to an end…… no ticks left on her clock. I did not want to accept it then, and I still do not want to accept it, but death left me no choice. I grew up a daddy’s girl, but there is something different when the body that gave life to you, no longer lives……. It changes you and every day is different.
I do not believe that Jesus’ Barn is some made up place from one’s imagination. I KNOW it to be a true destination and God used my feisty mama to warn us not to miss it. So as hard as it is some days, I can’t un-hear what she said…… “You don’t want to miss it.” Therefore, I cannot quit…
The calling on my life and the lesson’s God has given me is to make sure everybody that has influenced my life knows it and that they all hear about Jesus’ Barn. It does not come without sacrifice. Death has taught me to be thankful, slow down, visit your friends a little longer, listen to the stories, take time to watch the sun come up every day, find a good swimming hole and jump off of the cliffs no matter how scared you are. ~Shelenea Harris
